Technological Foundations of Internet Projects
I taught this course at the Graduate School of Economics in 2020.
Objective.
- To form a system of concepts, knowledge and skills of interaction with the technical staff of Internet projects (developers, system administrators, layout designers, testers, etc.).
- To teach product managers to be competent customers in the field of Internet development.
Expected outcomes.
As a result of the discipline students should:
- Have the skills to communicate with technical specialists, set tasks, monitor and evaluate results
- Be able to write a competent requirements specification for Internet projects
- Master the tools of technical department staff recruitment
- Know the current state of Internet technologies on an ideological level
- Be able to qualitatively estimate technical complexity of different solutions implementation
- Understand the basic processes in the development and maintenance of Internet projects
Content
- Rules of writing technical specifications, theory and practice.
- Selection and hiring of technical staff, peculiarities of work with developers.
- Planning the development of the project, the ongoing control of work on it.
- The main technologies used in web projects. Programming languages, databases, HTML layout, understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
- Principles of interaction between projects and with external resources, API.
- Typical causes of project inaccessibility or inoperability, administrative and technical measures to solve them.
